Premium screencasts and articles

Python Morsels includes a large library of short screencasts and articles. Some are free for everyone; the rest are premium, and this page explains who can watch and read those.

Who has access to premium screencasts and articles?

Anyone with an active Python Morsels subscription: the Lite plan, the All Access plan, older grandfathered plans, and team plan members all include every premium screencast and article.

A redemption code that carries screencast access also unlocks premium screencasts and articles for the code's duration, no subscription needed.

Why don't I have access?

The cases that surprise people:

  • The free trial doesn't include premium screencasts and articles. The 3 free trial credits are for exercises; premium watching and reading comes with the paid plans.
  • Pausing your subscription suspends premium access until you resume. Your banked exercise credits still work while paused, but premium screencasts and articles are part of the subscription itself.
  • After a cancellation takes effect, premium access ends with the billing period you paid for (until then you keep full access).

If none of those apply and you believe you should have access, email me and I'll look into it right away.

What are the free previews?

Everyone gets a couple of free premium previews. If you open a premium screencast or article without premium access, you can watch or read the first two in full (you'll see a "free preview" note at the bottom of the page). After that, premium pages show a subscribe prompt instead.

How can I get access?

Are courses included too?

Courses work a little differently: they're included with the All Access plan (and some can be purchased individually), rather than with every subscription. See Courses and Python Jumpstart for the details.
