Do you offer income-based or regional discounts?

Yes. Salaries vary a lot around the world, and what's affordable for one person is a considerable sum for another. So I offer discounts based on your income level, up to 75% off a Python Morsels subscription.

The current discount tiers are listed on the discounts page. The income levels are in US dollars, but you're welcome to request a discount from any country: purchasing-power-parity style requests are exactly what this program is for.

If your situation doesn't fit neatly into an income tier (you're a student, between jobs, retired, dealing with illness, or something else entirely), request a discount anyway and explain your situation in the notes. I read every request personally.

How do I request a discount?

Fill out the request form linked from the discounts page.

You'll need a Python Morsels account first (a free account is fine, and signing up doesn't require any payment details). The form asks for your approximate annual income, which I use only for assessing the discount level and never share.

What happens after I submit a request?

I review discount requests personally, so you won't get an instant automated answer. I try to respond as soon as possible, though it sometimes takes a few days.

Once I've reviewed your request, you'll get an email from me. If you're not subscribed yet, that email will include a coupon code to enter when you subscribe. If you're already subscribed, I'll apply the discount to your subscription directly and it will show up on your next invoice.

If you've requested a discount and haven't heard back after a week or so, email me and I'll look into it.

Does my discount apply to future renewals?

Usually, yes. Most discounts keep applying when your subscription renews, so you don't need to re-request them each billing cycle. Some discounts are temporary though; if yours is, I'll note that when I respond to your request.

If you cancel your subscription and resubscribe later, your discount won't carry over automatically, so just email me or submit a new request and I'll set it up again.

Can I get a discount on a course or another one-time purchase?

The discount request form only handles Python Morsels subscriptions. But if you'd like an income-based discount on a course (like Python Jumpstart) or another one-time purchase, mention that in the notes of your discount request, or just email me. I'm happy to work something out and send you a payment link with a discount applied.
